The art of Procrastination takes time to master but if you’re like me then you are all too familiar with procrastination and all the stages that come with it. So without further procrastination, here are the 10 stages of procrastination we all know too well.
1) The Creative Stage While you should be writing that outline for that paper, you are instead creating the next masterpiece to hang in the Museum of Modern Art.
2) The Planning Stage
This is the stage where you’ll make a To Do list and feel confident that you’ll be able to complete 4 papers and a lab before tomorrow at 8am.
3) The Reward Stage
After working for an hour straight, you’ll decide that you need to reward yourself with food…and eat everything in sight.
4) The Nap Stage
Or lovingly referred to as going into a food coma. This stage usually last about 3-4 hours.
5) The Replanning Stage
Now that you’ve had time to rest, it is time to regroup and focus on the 4 papers and that lab due in approximately 7 hours.
6) The Ugly Crying Stage
This is where it finally dawns on you that you made a terrible mistake.
7) The Getting Down To Business Stage
However as a professional procrastinator, you’re never down for too long.
8) The Getting Stuff Done Stage
You’re finally starting to get somewhere on paper one, in fact you now have 200 out of 1,000 words.
9) The All-Nighter Stage
But who cares. right? Sleep is for the weak.
10) The Proving Everyone Wrong Stage
And everyone thought you couldn’t do it. Congratulations, you live to procrastinate another day.
