For those of you who do not know, yes, Lyndon State does have a hockey team and they are a blast to watch. Although the hockey team is still considered a club sport, that does not stop locals and students from coming to the rink and cheering on the Hornets! Some may think nah I’m not going to a game they are just a club sport so it doesn’t mean anything and it will probably be boring. Well you could not be more wrong! I went to my first LSC hockey game a few years ago and I absolutely was surprised as to what I had seen. I saw a full parking lot and a small rink filled up and almost at exploding capacity. Fans were cheering and booing and having a great time. With chilled noses and hot chocolate in hand the LSC hockey team was a perfect place to experience a great game and a great atmosphere. Now not every game will be filled to the brim with fans but the atmosphere of the games will always be the same.
What you will see from the team? You will see a bunch of hard-working individuals who love to play as a team and play for their fans. You will also see a great fan base that will stay behind their team even though they may be losing. What continues to keep me happy at this school is the community that the students have created. A great group of people make up Lyndon State College! So much enthusiasm and commitment along with passion makes a fan base here at school, one that should be put in the history books and a great place to experience such things is while watching the LSC Hockey team.
