I recently have started to identify myself as a traveler. I mean, who doesn’t want to be considered well-traveled? With my two best friends we yearn to visit places and enjoy life to the fullest. Don’t get me wrong, it has not been easy, but traveling has been our goal and this year’s resolution. If you ask me, so far we have lived up to it. Aside from having made a few trips of my own I have decided to take this hobby and passion for traveling very seriously. This past summer my friends and I went on a road trip to Chicago and just last school break we went to Vegas. I never thought in a million years that I would be going to Vegas. Initially it started off just as a regular conversation until we started looking into it seriously. Being broke college students, we did a lot of research and started planning early. Unlike most travel blogs who talk about buying things through points and credit cards, we pretty much bought everything through the Groupon App. For those who don’t know what Groupon is, it’s a marketplace that allows users to buy things for cheaper deals that are offered for a limited time. (From restaurants to activities and even hotels.) The act of traveling is changing the way I think about money and affordability. As a matter of fact, it has changed the way I think about a lot of things. It has exposed me to so many different cultures with a multitude of values, beliefs, food, fashion, customs, and norms. One thing I learn each time I travel anywhere is that there is so much out there to be discovered… so much more. It seems that this is what allows the ubiquitous travel bug to stay alive and I do not see many people complaining about that. In fact, no one ever wants to cure the travel bug. We simply seek to satisfy the symptomatic urges. Photography & Post By Victor Mwangi
